Sloane's Vacation...Tomatoes and Gadgets

Good Morning Friends!

My goodness, Spring has quickly turned into Summer!

Sloane and her mom and dad have enjoyed their vacation in Port Aransas, Texas.  They should already be home by the time I post this.  Looks like they ate a lot of seafood and played in a lot of sand and salt water...We missed them...

Miss Sloane (our great granddaughter)

Look-a-like clothes...lol

Always so happy...with mom and dad...

A little time-out with cousin Arlis...

Had to have a little swimming pool time...

Being chauffeured while out seeing the sights...lol

On the beach for the first time!

Pooped out...lol

It was Taco Tuesday!  Larry and I made it into town in time to enjoy one of our favorite meals.

These came off of my tomato plant.  It's already given me about 8, so far...and now these and, there's more on the plant!

Rosemary, Noah's Ark and Hibiscus

Here's the solar water feature (Amazon) Larry purchased for the bird bath.

Zucchini, Yellow squash, shrimp and tomatoes in a lemon cream sauce.

I saw this neat little gadget online somewhere, but I did a search for it and found it, yet again, on Amazon.  It chops strawberries, garlic, mushrooms...etc.  If it fits, it'll chop.  So if you have your board full of strawberries, let's say, you just push down over a strawberry, press quickly downward and then move on to the next one!  No emptying the chamber until it's full...Talk about a time saver!

Well, not much to report today...Hopefully, I didn't bore you too much.  Larry's feeling better...working back out in his workshop on more things for the wood fence...watering the foundation (Texas heat will dry out the soil around your house so we water it.  Not one crack in our's yet and have been doing this since we moved in 48 years ago.)  Most of the houses on this block have had some sort of foundation repair!  When visiting with the neighbors, we'd try to tell them how to keep cracks from happening but...they know best...not going to happen to them...okay...lol

Here's hoping you had a good week, were good to each other and enjoyed some "down" time.

So, as Sloane is saying...bye bye for now...until next time,

Your dishes are delicious, I'll make minced meat with vegetables and potatoes later.
And I'm waiting for the first gardener tomatoes, I myself have only one tomato bush, they are yellow.
Yours look wonderful.
Thank you for your photos... best wishes to you. I wish you a happy weekend.

Sloane is so cute and is well loved. She's blessed!
I like that slicer. I've seen something similar by Pampered Chef, but I bet that one costs less and I'll have to look for it.

Little Sloane is adorable, and I love all the pictures of her and family. That shrimp and lemon sauce dish looks really good. That's such a cool water feature for the bird bath. So glad to hear you got some tomatoes growing already. There's just nothing like home grown tomatoes. Sloane is having a blast at the beach.

Good to know that Larry is feeling better and back in his workshop. Also that Sloane and her mom and dad enjoyed their vacation time. Great photos, all of them. Your food photos look very yummy, and so nice to have your own harvest and a clever slicing gadget. Pretty water fountain too. Those are all good tips on the house foundation. I noticed a crack in ours the other day. Something to get taken care of soon. Enjoy the rest of your weekend, and sending hugs :)

I think that picture of Sloane in her little chair is the first one I've seen where she's looking serious.
About your birdbath...Do you have to take out all those rocks in order to clean the bottom? Our birdbath gets so grungy that at least twice a week I have to scrub it out. ( Maybe our birds are dirtier than yours. *smile*)

I am seeing solar water fountains everywhere. I deck garden, but I have got to find a way to incorporate one of these. I am really intrigued by this.

I love to see Sloane’s photos she is so sweet.
I am always hungry when I look at the food!
Houses also have problems here due to the changing of weather too dry.
The slicer you found must be very helpful.
Enjoy your week!

Awww there's nothing much cuter than babies at the beach. I know they had a great time. WOW I am getting me one of those chopper things and I'll probably throw in a classic Kwik-Kut too because I've never had one! I love your bird bath. Anything solar and I am one hundred percent in! I love solar lights, haha xoxo

Hi Donna. Sloane is darling as always. I have a slicer much like that. My youngest son bought it for me. I usually forget to use it and just slice things up the old fashioned way. Those tacos looks so delicious! I hope you are enjoying your Independence Day. Glad that Larry is feeling better. See you again soon!
