Eggs...Cookies, Sloane and Quilts.

Good morning, Friends.  Another week has passed us by.  Seems like just yesterday I was working...raising kids...and dreaming of the days when life would slow down a bit.  It did...and I don't think I like it...lol
But, Oh Well...such is life, as my Dad used to say.
It's been raining again.  I think we might float away.  But I'm not griping...it'll be red hot here and dry, before we know it.

Made my honey some love eggs...lol, or at least they started out that way...good intentions and all.  I forgot to grease the pan with butter.

And I made some chocolate cookies...

My sister, Ruth Ann (yes, the cranky one...lol) is a quilter.  Her work is gorgeous.  I went for a visit last week and she gave me this box of a Rolling Star pattern and pre-cut cloth.  It's been in her closet for just under 40 years....forgotten.  Her fingers are numb from all the chemo and she said she just can't be bothered with trying to put it together...I could have it if I wanted it.  Yes, I'll take it!  The price, even then, was $60.  She got it for $40 because she knew the quilt shop owner really well.  Today's price is about $180.  And the cotton material is still good.  It was kept well protected.

Our sweet Sloane and mom, Samantha at a swim party.  Momma played  with Sloane's hair...lol

Larry had fun putting Sloane's name on her tennis shoes...loves his laser.

Made Larry a nacho snack...

Found a new restaurant...The plates were huge as were the amounts of food served!  A little pricey but worth it.

Larry had the BLT on rye...

I had the Cheeseburger Salad.  Very good.

The reason we were out and about was Larry had his six month cancer check-up.  He's still doing well...no repeating cancer so far...will have another bladder wash in a few weeks.  The guy in the photo isn't Larry...lol

Well, guess I'll get this posted.
Have a wonderful weekend and I'll see you all, next time!
So...until then...

Black Bear Diner is a favorite of ours here in California. Yes, big servings, and delicious food. So nice of Ruth Ann to give you the pattern box and pre cut cloth. Your chocolate cookies look Yummy. And we call those "egg in a basket" here. My mom used to make them when we were little, and I still make them every now and then. I heard of the storms in Texas. I have another blog friend from Texas, and lots of trees are down and power is out. A cute picture of Sloane in the water with mama. That's good news about Larry's check-up. And the coffee quote is delightful.

Have a pleasant weekend, Donna.

Awwwwww the love eggs were cute anyway and I bet, so delicious. I can make eggs that look like a pirate, hahaha! Summer rain! We need more of that than we've had. Pretty hot here already. Pool weather! The Black Bear Diner looks wonderful! Never heard of cheeseburger salad but I'm in!!!! xoxo

First of all, I'm glad to read that Larry is doing well. That must have been such a relief! He truly deserved those love eggs LOL!
How sweet are Sloane's personalized tennis shoes, and what a fun hairdo her Mom gave her :-)
And who needs growing up anyway? Always embrace your inner child, that's what I say :-) xxx

So happy to read that Larry is still doing well. All your funnies made me smile. Looks like I would be going back to that restaurant again. Yummy pics. If that Sloane gets any cuter don't know what anyone will do :)!! Hugs

What a cute idea with the eggs. Those cookies sure look good.
Larry is a master at that laser of his. How cool is it that he can put Sloanes name on her sneakers. Between the nacho snack and your food from the Black Bear Diner I'm getting really hungry.

Our Black Bear Diner has suffered since Covid..workers less motivated and the prices went way up here in the Sacramento CA area. We still do go now and then anyway. That cheeseburger salad looks delicious. I might have to try that one.
That "hair-do" of Sloane's is darling.

I was so glad to read that you watched The Taste of Things and enjoyed it. Yes, the covering of their heads thing really threw me, and I googled it as well. It was interesting. I’d like to find another movie similar to that one, because I enjoyed it so much.

Yea! Glad Larry had good news! That's awesome.
I can't wait to see the quilt in progress. I'm in the middle of my hard one, but the 20 paper pieced starbursts are FINISHED! Hallelujah!

Sloane's shoes are so sweet. Larry did a great job. Really glad to hear that all is still good after his check up. I pray that it stays that way.
I'm looking forward to seeing the quilt. That was a great pass on from Ruth Ann.

Nice of Ruth Ann to give you the makings of the Star Quilt, which looks very complicated. I'm sure to one accustomed to quilting it will not be too hard.
Good news that Larry continues to do well.
You make such delicious looking food!! And find the best places to go out to eat.
Sloane's little shoes with her name...too cute💗.
