Waiting...Tree, Fireplace and Food.

Good morning, Friends...

Well, I finally got our tree up.   I'm not as fast as I used to be but it's up.  The white flocked tree we had for the last several years had a blowout...of sorts...lol.  The bottom two tiers of branches light's wouldn't come on.  We tried everything but, no good.  Larry said he was glad because that meant we would be buying another one...so, off we went to find T-37 at Walmart...several Walmart's!   It's a super popular tree, apparently.  They have tons of any other tree you might want but not T-37.  It has 15 different modes of lights...and for only $187 it could be yours.  7 1/2ft.  Well...I must admit, it is a pretty tree.  1200 lights on it...I remember one year, I bought a tree and hand wrapped each branch with Silvestri lights...over 1500.  Took me two months!  Oh, but it was beautiful.

This is the bright white lights mode...it's pretty bright!  Sunglasses kinda bright...lol

Here's another mode...different colors...we really like this one...twinkling lights.

Remember last week I said Larry had to repair the space heater?  Well, he did but also bought me this cute little fireplace heater!  It really makes the room feel warm and cozy.  It really does heat the room too!  You can shut off the heater and have just the lighted fireplace...nice.

As so far as food for the week goes, I made air fryer chicken with sweet potatoes...

We went out for our weekly restaurant fare, to a cafe up the road for steak fingers (me) and cheeseburger (Larry).  Both were really good.

After my eye appointment, I couldn't see straight enough...lol...to cook so we went to George's for breakfast...good stuff.

This was Sloane at Halloween...I don't remember the name of the character, but she was too cute...

I also made chocolate chip pecan cookies...

Well, the week seemed to pass really fast!  Mostly uneventful, which is always a good thing!  I hope you all are doing well and are safe.  32 more shopping days until Christmas!  It'll be here before we know it!  So, until next week, and yes...we will be celebrating Thanksgiving on Friday, the 29th, with the family.  If you really know me, you know Christmas is my favorite holiday...Later friends!

All of the little memes are so cute ...I love the one where the dog just wants to bring his stick into the house. LOL....This is a beautiful tree and I can see why it would be a big seller...Glad you got it. So very pretty...The more lights the more I love the tree...Happy Saturday...

We are decorated here, and as is our family custom we will help do the tree at daughter's today. My help will probably be to observe and hang one ceremonial ball, which will likely be one of my mother's smocked balls.

your tree is perfect, I had a HISSY fit trying to put 100 fairy lights on my 17 inch tree and ended up stuffing them all inside. I could never do a big tree. my hubby love blue lights best, I like white, this would be good because MY tree is white. ha ha. if he wants a blue tree he can do the lights. maybe Sloan's costume was from the little mermaid? I don't know anything about movies or kids though. she is so darn cute, just have to smile.. good to hear your voice

Oooh, the tree is lovely! I don't put up mine until after Thanksgiving, but I am clearly the only one who does that anymore. I refuse to dust Christmas decorations...so I wait.... We just got a new electric fireplace insert that is similar to yours. It's awesome! I can light the fireplace and have the ambience without the heat...which is nice! Happy Thanksgiving!

Wow, your tree is so beautiful. Ours is still out in the garage in its box. Wonder when it will get inside??
Love the picture of that poor doggie and his "wondering" too cute as is Sloane. I don't know who that character is either but still cute.
I love that fireplace heater too. Its so cozy and inviting looking.
You really have a prize in Larry.

G'day, Donna....No Christmas tree here. I gave away doing that a number of years ago now. There is just me...and I'm just too lazy, I guess. :) I gave away all my decorations back then, at the same time, too. Yours looks lovely.

I love the animal pics, too...they bring a smile to my face (where else?) :)

Take care.

I love your beautiful tree!! LD got ours up a couple of days ago - the living room tree - and I put the lights on today and partially decorated it. I used white lights and colored LED ones.
We are planning to go to the ranch in early December - keep us in mind if y'all would like to meet up for lunch! Or Breakfast - but we are not early morning people! We do love George's!!

That tree is really pretty. I'm wondering if it is the same one that I was looking at the one day when I was browsing the Christmas department.

What a pretty tree, Donna! I'm also loving the little fireplace Larry bought you. I could definitely do with one, as it's been really cold here in Belgium the last couple of days. Oh, and Sloane is obviously stealing the show in her Halloween costume! xxx P.S. Hope your eye appointment went well?

Your tree is sooooo pretty! I actually like the 'white lights' mode. Too bad about your white flocked tree. That's the only tree that my sister-in-law would buy every year. Your new fireplace heater is charming., and great that it heats up the room too. Your air fryer chicken and sweet potatoes look really good. And your other meals eating out look delicious too. It's always nice to eat out once and a while. Gives us a break from cooking. I loved the Santa pickup, drop off quote. I can totally relate staying home and raising my kids back in the day. Love that dog quote too. You always share such great comical photos. I've been looking around for good sites, but haven't found any.

Happy Thanksgiving Donna.

Your tree is very nice. This year we have ordered a big real tree. Sloane is very cute in her Halloween 🎃 costume! I used to have the same little heater in the fireplace.
( to answer your question I have heart problems after my COVID injection and I have a clinic appointment to have a heart scan to see what’s wrong.)

Thank you for another great post Donna, fun to read again. Your tree looks beautiful with all those bright lights. Thoughtful of Larry to buy you the new heater. It looks very smart. All the food looks great. And Sloane in the video sharing her Halloween outfit is adorable. What a lovely costume! Thanks for stopping by with that very interesting comment, of which I took serious note. Much appreciated it. Happy Thanksgiving to you, Larry and all the family.

Your tree is so lovely!!! I love my little electric fireplace too. I have it on the (enclosed) porch and even now in November I've been able to sit out there in reasonable comfort. Makes the winter seem shorter.
I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family.
