Good morning Friends...
I can't say it's been an exciting week... except that our new neighbor called for an ambulance. Something happened to either his girlfriend or wife...we are unsure of their relationship, and we think it was the woman that had a problem. We don't know them so felt best to stay out of the way. It's now been 5 or 6 days...we've heard nothing. All we can do (we don't even know their names) is pray.
We then had a new metal roof installed on our work building...A leak started in the back corner of the building, so we just replaced the whole roof. It was long overdue.
In other news...
Sloane loving on her babydoll...lol
Larry finished the wooden case for his Dad's flag that was presented to Larry at the funeral. He gifted it to our nephew Kurtis.
We try to make a date every Sunday, after church, to find a good place to eat. The Summer Palace is one place we enjoy. Their egg drop soup is delicious.
Then, I got the idea to make my own egg rolls...They turned out really good! I used an Asian salad kit for the veggies...small shrimp...soy sauce...brown sugar...garlic powder...then fried them.
English muffins in the toaster...Mascarpone cheese...hot pepper jelly and hot coffee, for breakfast!
We went to the grocery yesterday and saw these TV dinners! It's been absolutely years since we'd though of trying any. I got this chicken dinner and Larry went totally off course and had Etouffee.
We remembered, as kids, them tasting so much better...these were poor offerings indeed. I guess nothing remains the same.
Well, so much for our week. We still have more signing of papers on Larry's Dad's estate today. Hopefully, this will allow us to put another piece of the puzzle, to bed. We still have the house to sell. The business's building has now been sold to a plumber that used to work for us. We know it'll be in capable hands. Larry's Dad started the plumbing business back in 1954. We're not selling the business as we still have a shop in a town south of Waco...just it's buildings here in Waco. We no longer need two locations.
Have a super week and I'll be around to check on you soon! Until next time...

I love your food court makes me feel hungry as I am dieting π Sloane is very cute with her baby. I hope it will be quick for you to sell the house and rest.
Hopefully all the estate things will go quickly and without hassle. We always had some sort of drama in the old 'hood in Chicago. I think we just saw more because we lived so darn close together. I don't miss it. I hope they are okay.
I’ve been so MIA on blogger! Facebook seems to have taken over and is my only Social Media outlet anymore. Nice to see you’re still posting here! π
This is the sweetest picture of little sloan playing with her baby doll. She will love this photo some day. Sam's parents estate sell in coming up in three weeks. Thankfully, we hired a professional estate sell business to take care of this for us. I do hope your neighbor is okay..
Sweet little Sloane!
Estate stuff is no walk in the park. It seems never ending sometimes.
The last time I had a tv dinner was some time ago. Certainly wasn't how I remembered them!
Oh my, that TV dinner is really sad looking. Not how I remember them either.
Love the picture of Sloane and her baby. Precious.
Having had to deal with both my parents and Dave's parents estates I really do know how difficult and time consuming it can be. Hopefully the paper work will all go smoothly. I love the flag frame Larry made. Such an honor.
Have a great rest of the week.
Sue
Hope your neighbor is OK, an ambulance in front of the house is always alarming. I like to be at least a bit familiar with my neighbors so when I'm back in the States for a time I make a point of introduction and small talk. You never know when a SHTF event will occur, and a neighbors may need to cooperate out of necessity.
Cute photo of Sloane and her doll. The tv dinners, I didn't know they still made them. I had my share many decades ago. :) Have a great week and month.
Sloane and her doll were adorable.
I hope your neighbor is okay.
I had not heard of Harvey Milhoun - but was a sad time that all was. Larry made a wonderful case for his dad's flag.
You like egg drop soup I like the wonton soup.
One thing we have in common - PUGS!
What a great capture of Sloane playing with her baby doll. So sweet as she so carefully loves on her baby doll. Nope, we haven't had TV dinners in ages. I no longer buy frozen pre-packaged meals because they don't taste good and they're expensive. So that means I have to cook everything myself. Same with goodies. I do like Oreos and Chips Ahoy cookies, but rarely buy them. I make myself bake, and I'm beginning to crave some baked goods. I baked a banana bread last week.
I hope your neighbors are alright. We also experienced a tragic incident in my neighborhood yesterday.
Sloane looks so cute with her babydoll.
Your egg rolls look delicious. I used to really like tv dinners. But that was back when they had all good ingredient in them and didn't worry about trans fat and other things they claim are bad for you
Look - full of LOVE dear Sloane is holding her baby ππ❣️πππ♥️❤️π©΅π§‘π€πππ
Yes, time is running so fast.
You pray for your neighbour? This is a blessing!
Many greetings and blessings to you all from Dori from the Bavarian Forest

How wonderful for Larry to make a flag holder. Most of the food looked good. I am not a fan of tv dinners. Hope yuor neighbor is alright. Janice
You have been having a busy time with estates and company buildings. Hope all goes well and be sorted soon. Gorgeous shot of Sloan. You are a clever cook and Larry a clever woodworker.
Love the photo of Sloane and her doll, she is really comforting it or scolding, so sweet.
The frame Larry made is a good solid one and does look good.
I like the cooking you did, never had a TV dinner as yet or that soup either.
Take care.
From helping your neighbor in prayer, getting the work building roof replaced, to enjoying Sunday dates and homemade egg rolls, it’s clear you find little ways to make life meaningful. The TV dinner nostalgia is relatable, some things just don’t live up to the memories. It’s nice to see the care you put into family traditions, like the flag case and keeping the business in capable hands. www.melodyjacob.com
I find it pretty cool that you made your own egg rolls.
Hello, love your recipes. I’m curious how you feel about RJ Kennedy?
R J Kennedy (Reginald)? The basketball kid? We don't watch basketball since all the "kneeling" garbage happened. Or do you mean R J Kennedy the film maker? Or do you mean R F Kennedy, Jr.? If you mean him, we like him.
Happy weekend!
Donna
Donna, I always go away from your blog hungry! Your food pics are always so enticing! When I was a kid, my mom would go to the store and buy up a lot of tv dinners and then after we ate them, she would save the trays and take a day or two and make up her own tv dinners. Hers were always the best!
Loved the picture of Sloane and her dolly.
Donna I pray your neighbor woman is alright. It is hard when you don't know someone to decide what one should do in this type of situation. Looks like Sloane is really loving on that baby doll. She will make a wonderful mother someday am sure! Yes, things that we used to by like TV dinners and Chicken Pot Pies are not what they used to be. Well - take care and hope you get Larry's Dad's estate settled soon. Hugs!
I hope your neighbor is Ok. aahh, I love that picture of Sloane and the baby doll. Charlotte played with her baby doll all week, it was the cutest thing to watch. Your egg rolls look terrific! I just had English muffins and cream cheese, but have never thought of putting jelly on there. Haven't had a TV dinner in forever. They would be nice once in a while when we don't feel like cooking. I hope all goes well with the selling of Larry's dad's house. Love that first picture with the pink roses. Oh my, that room is charming. : )
Have a restful weekend, Donna.

Sloane sure is cute. The food court looks delicious. That room is charming.
I hope your neighbour will be okay. It's crazy when the ambulance plus firetruck and a few cop cars show up and one has no idea what's going on.
You food pics invariably make me hungry.
I am hoping your neighbor is ok; I will keep in prayer...and tv dinners are not what they used to be, sigh. Another great photo of Sloane, smiles.
I haven't had a tv dinner in decades, Good to know I am not missing anything.
Sloane is darling.

That is very moving to see the veterans ashes brought to Pearl Harbor with such dignity. Love the case for the flag, made with much love and respect. The little girl with her doll, precious. I bet you are the best cook, those egg rolls look delicious. Tee hee, you getting those TV dinners, I can just imagine you looking at each other after the first few bites, "Let's not to do this again!". xx
I'm glad I read your post after I had eaten my lunch, as everything is looking super delicious in your photos.
A special occasion with the ashes of veteran Harvey Milhorn finding their final resting place at the memorial of HMS Arizona. We will be visiting Pear Harbour ourselves in October.
You can see how much Sloane loves her baby doll. π
Larry made a beautiful box for the flag. It is a lovely tribute to his dad. There is always so much paperwork to go through at this time so I am sending you special hugs and prayers to get through it all very soon.
Take care x
I do hope your neighbour will be okay.
Sweet photographs of Sloane with her baby doll.
Tasty photographs from your 'food court'
It was quite moving to see the veterans ashes brought to Pearl Harbour.
Until next time, I send my good wishes.
All the best Jan
Sweet Sloane:)
Larry did a wonderful job on the flag holder.
Have a grand week.
Hi Donna, sorry about your neighbor and I hope she is okay. Looks like you have had a busy week. That’s a darling photo of Sloane with her baby doll. Thank you for the photo of Harvey Millhorn’s ashes being placed. I had a double-take when I saw his name. I only met him on a couple of occasions but he was head of security and a good friend of my father-in-law was the manager of a shopping mall where they lived for many years. My father-in-law was in the navy for 30-years. His ship went down on D-Day. He and Harvey used to have many conversations about their days in the navy. I can’t think of a more fitting place for Harvey’s last resting place and I showed my husband this photo you have on your blog today. Larry did a wonderful job on the wooden case for his Dad's flag, a priceless gift for your nephew Kurtis. Thanks for all the yummy food photos. I like to get ideas as we need variety with our own meals. What a cute picture of the Titanic Pugs. I had another nice visit, thank you.
Sweet little Sloane loving on her doll, so cute!! All the food looks so good!
