Splash......and a Happy Surprise!

What a Happy surprise I got today! I have this "sister" that I lost contact with years ago...she was special to me...It was one of those friendships that you make when you're young...You know the kind...your sounding board about life. The one where life is a constant surprise and you get to share it with that one special person. The kind of friend you sit in a tree with...Hahahaaa....and laugh about Everything with....she called me today. We'd lost a lot of time, but the second I heard her voice, it was 1974 again. I'm SO glad you dialed my number Debbe...Here's to your Mom, my Mom and us. May we have joy and laughter....always....<3

If you want to listen to this, go to the bottom of this page and shut off my music box!

"Love came for Me" by Lee Holdridge......It was a fun movie and this is one of my favorite pieces of music. Dreamy....
I've been at the computer here at work since 5am...Too much to do, but before I got started, I made Hubby and I a little breakfast of bacon and eggs. We have a breakroom with a gas range, microwave, refrigerator, etc. He got here at 4am...needless to say, we can't wait until things get put together, updated, closed and we're up and running. Waiting on the computer guy to get here to install 2 hard drives in the server....Geez. So I shall listen to the "Splash" video and dream...Happy night all!

Cleaning Fool.....and the Next Challenge

Well...I have taken the day off from my Daytime job to do a little cleaning on my Full time job. In the spare bedroom, I got a Little carried away...Hahaaa.....I was washing the closet doors down, when....well, I guess I just rubbed too hard and knocked one of them off it's roller! Hubby should just Love this! It's Great mental therapy though....mindless, robotic. Just what I needed. I had the Grankids last night and Sami said she needed to get up by 5:30am to get ready for school....Geez Louise! Well, I woke her up (and let Will sleep). A couple of minutes after I woke her up, she was Up and At'em! I couldn't let her put me to shame so I started in with the cleaning. And oh yes, I made the breakfast...Bacon, biscuits, eggs. Then, off we went to the bus stop (Sami doesn't like me to take her to school...someone might see her!Hahaaa) and after throwing myself in front of the bus to get it to stop, Sami jumped on. Then Back to the house to wait (and to clean) for 45 more minutes to take Will to school (Will loves me to take him to school...doesn't like the bus)! So now, it's early afternoon and I'm still looking around at all the stuff I need to do. The holidays will be here soon and I don't want those nagging dark corners waking me up at night! And WHY does dust Always seem to settle on those light fixtures in the bathroom??? You know the ones I mean...deep groves that looked SO pretty in the store?Hahaaa....should of had my head examined Before I bought them!

Geez, What a Week....

It's been a Busy, running, crazy, mind curdling....sad week. Murphy's Law was My law...never seemed to let up. Then we got the news of Sally's Grandson, Ben. God bless your hearts....

Just sitting here staring at the wall above the computer....Everything seems to be topsy turvy...The stock market, the government bail outs...Biden's comment about patriotism....Nit picking, back biting...sarcasm....a rude comment on my photo blog by someone named Smythe...LOLHahaaaa....gads, that gave me a good laugh....once I got over being pissed. I don't care if you're a card carrying Democrat, Independent or Republican...IF, you've RESEARCHED your candidate....the Good AND the Bad, then vote the way your heart tells you to. Only YOU know what's best for YOUR family in the long run. I won't sit in judgement of you...I won't take pot-shots at you...but when you take pot-shots at me and mine, you're fair game. President Bush may not be the best president, and yes, he has a home in Texas, but right now, he's IS the President and I support him...as I did Clinton when He was President....(I didn't care for his policies, BUT I supported him as President) but what has that got to do with the price of tea in China???? Or a picture of a cloud??? Nothing....sarcasm....meanness. Fly-by, wittless nonsense.
I've just had a Fly-by rant....thanks for listening guys.....Happy night.

100 Day Countdown....Hahaa...

Alright all you nea-sayers.....Bah-Humbuggers...procrastinators!!! The 100 Day countdown has begun! It is now ACCEPTABLE, in blogland, to talk about it! It's OK!! We no longer have to feel the ties of tyranny...Duct tape over our lips...sunglasses that hide the Christmas light, shinning from our eyes!!! Freedom, I say!!! LOLHahaaaa......Ahhhh, the Joy of Christmas!!!
You Know I love to joke around...You say, "Donna? Today is possibly the Worst day for us, in years...What the hell is there to be Happy about?"........I say....This is the BEST day to start feeling joy...happiness...the love we have for each other. It's been a tough couple of weeks...Hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, banks declaring bankruptcy...home foreclosures...jobs lost. Is there Anything you can do to change these things today? You feel helpless...but you Can help! Smile...laugh...hug...love...Believe...have Faith...LOOSE THE FEAR...We'll make it...together. So, have a HAPPY and Joyous day...and just, Believe.

The Worst For Us Is Past....

Well, we made it...Ike turned again just a bit more to the east which took us out of the line of fire. We are Still experiencing high wind gust and rain but feel VERY fortunate to have missed the worst of it. Now the storm path is headed to Arkansas...Take care Miz Brenda!! Hopefully it'll let up by the time it gets to you!!

So we've settled in to Grandkids, a pot of Chile and listening to the rain. Guess I'll come down "off the ceiling"...hahahaaa.....and relax. Galveston took the brunt of Ike...It's pretty bad there. Thank you all for your prayers! They worked!! Peaceful and safe night to you all...

Ike....On It's Way....and Some Truth from my MIL...

Hi Everyone! Well, Ike's almost here...They say it's going to be a Booger storm. Hubby's out right now loading up on propane. I'm just hoping it's not bad. We've had Tons of evacuees coming through town. All the hotels seem to be filled. I stopped this morning at 6:00am to fill up my jeep and as I was driving off, the attendant put up signs saying they were now out of plus gas....geez. I don't think Waco is suppose to get it too bad...but Galveston and Houston are Really the worrisome trouble spots. Just say a prayer for us...I'll keep ya'll updated as long as I have a connection to the Internet. Ya'll enjoy your weekend and I'll talk at 'cha later...

This was in an email from my Mother in law....Hahaaaaa...... Had to come back and add it!

When you have to visit a public bathroom, you usually find a line of women, so you smile politely and take your place. Once it's your turn, you check for feet under the stall doors. Every stall is occupied. Finally, a door opens and you dash in, nearly knocking down the woman leaving the stall. You get in to find the door won't latch. It doesn't matter, the wait has been so long you are about to wet your pants! The dispenser for the modern 'seat cover s' (invented by some one's Mom, no doubt) is handy, but empty. You would hang your purse on the door hook, if there was one, but there isn't - so you carefully, but quickly drape it around your neck, (Mom would turn over in her grave if you put it on the FLOOR! ), yank down your pants, and assume ' The Stance.' In this position your aging, toneless thigh muscles begin to shake. You'd love to sit down, but you certainly hadn't taken time to wipe the seat or lay toilet paper on it, so you hold 'The Stance.' To take your mind off your trembling thighs, you reach for what you discover to be the empty toilet paper dispenser. In your mind, you can hear your mother's voice saying, 'Honey, if you had tried to clean the seat, you would have KNOWN<> there was no toilet paper!' Your thighs shake more. You remember the tiny tissue that you blew your nose on yesterday - the one that's still in your purse. (Oh yeah, the purse around your neck, that now, you have to hold up trying not to strangle yourself at the same time). That would have to do. You crumple it in the puffiest way possible. It's still smaller than your thumbnail Someone pushes your door open because the latch doesn't work. The door hits your purse, which is hanging around your neck in front of your chest, and you and your purse topple backward against the tank of the toilet. 'Occupied!' you scream, as you reach for the door, dropping your precious, tiny, crumpled tissue in a puddle on the floor, lose your footing altogether, and slide down directly onto the TOILET SEAT . It is wet of course. You bolt up, knowing all too well that it's too late. Your bare bottom has made contact with every imaginable germ and life form on the uncovered seat because YOU never laid down toilet paper - not that there was any, even if you ha d taken time to try. You know that your mother would be utterly appalled if she knew, because, you're certain her bare bottom never touched a public toilet seat because, frankly, dear, 'You just don't KNOW what kind of diseases you could get.' By this time, the automatic sensor on the back of the toilet is so confused that it flushes, propelling a stream of water like a fire hose against the inside of the bowl that sprays a fine mist of water that covers your butt and runs down your legs and into your shoes. The flush somehow sucks everything down with such force that you grab onto the empty toilet paper dispenser for fear of being dragged in too. At this point, you give up. You're soaked by the spewing water and the wet toilet seat. You're exhausted. You try to wipe with a gum wrapper you found in your pocket and then slink out inconspicuously to the sinks. You can't figure out how to operate the faucets with the automatic sensors, so you wipe your hands with spit and a dry paper towel and walk past the line of women still waiting. You are no longer able to smile politely to them. A kind soul at the very end of the line points out a piece of toilet paper trailing from your shoe. (Where was that when you NEEDED it??) You yank the paper from your shoe, plunk it in the woman's hand and tell her warmly, 'Here, you just might need this.' As you exit, you spot your hubby, who has long since entered, used, and left the men's restroom. Annoyed, he asks, 'What took you so long, and why is your purse hanging around your neck?' This is dedicated to women everywhere who deal with a public restrooms (rest??? you've GOT to be kidding!!). It finally explains to the men what really does take us so long. It also answers their other commonly asked questions about why women go to the restroom in pairs. It's so the other gal can hold t he door, hang onto your purse and hand you Kleenex under the door! This HAD to be written by a woman! No one else could describe it so accurately!
A Friend Is Like A Good Bra...
Hard to Find
Supportive
Comfortable
Always Lifts You Up
Never Lets You Down or Leaves You Hanging
And Is Always Close To Your Heart!!!

Night All.......................

Red Update and Still Studying QuickBooks

Don't know if anyone remembers Red? Well, I'm happy to announce that he's doing Much better! See how much weight he has gained? Almost a Whopping 100 pounds! Terrific! My sister, Ruth Ann, has really worked to get him back to where he started out before he had been abused. The Vets told her to put him down...she said, No way. SO very glad she didn't. He's a sweetheart and he loves a little beer with his oats and hay...hahahaaaa.....
We're still knee deep into QuickBooks...training...Accounting is accounting...That doesn't ever change. It's Where you put stuff that you have to figure out! Where it is in PeachTree, it's Somewhere else in QBs....frustrating! We'll get there though.
Well, guess I'll let you get back to your day...I'm keeping one eye on QuickBooks and one eye on "Ike"....looks like it's coming this way. Ya'll have a happy and carefree day!!!

The School Teacher

The School Teacher

After being interviewed by the school administration, the teaching
prospect said, 'Let me see if I've got this right: 'You want me to go into that
room with all those kids, correct their disruptive behavior, observe
them for signs of abuse, monitor their dress habits, censor their T-shirt
messages, and instill in them a love for learning. You want me to check their
backpacks for weapons, wage war on drugs and sexually transmitted diseases,
and raise their sense of self esteem and personal pride. 'You want me to teach
them patriotism and good citizenship, sportsmanship and fair play, and
how to register to vote, balance a checkbook, and apply for a job. You want me to
check their heads for lice, recognize signs of antisocial behavior, and
make sure that they all pass the state exams. 'You want me to provide them
with an equal education regardless of their handicaps, and communicate regularly
with their parents by letter, telephone, newsletter, and report card. 'You want me to do all this
with a piece of chalk, a blackboard, a bulletin board, a few books, a big smile,
and a starting salary that qualifies me for food stamps. You want me to do
all this and then you tell me.......... .......'I CAN'T PRAY?'

Isn't this the truth?........Ya'll have a Happy and safe day!

Well, the clouds are rolling in to our part of the state. Don't know if we'll get much needed rain from it or not, but we Hope so! It's been a weekend, hasn't it! SO glad New Orleans came through it as Well as it did...at least the levys held! Lots of people are without power, but the official word is that the state will probably start allowing people back in as soon as Thursday or Friday. That's good news. Now, we're watching Hanna! Watch out Sally and Junie!! It seems to be headed your way! Then, I think Joseph is behind Hanna....Geez!

They Wanted to stay home!hahaha....poor babies! Will slept till 8:30am Sat and Sun mornings and Sami slept till 12:00pm on Sat and 8:30 on Sun. I Tried to get her up Saturday to go to the movie, The Mummy, at 11:00am, but with No success....so I just let her sleep. Between school activities, homework and running with Mom and Tim, they were both tired.
