Brenda Photo Challenge (10/18/08) "Old"

Three old Royal Doulton milk jugs my Mom got from Her mom in the 1930's.
Two old Cupie dolls that were my mother's when she was a little girl.
Hubby's Grandmothers old bread bowl.

I remeber my Grandmother having those jugs...Did'nt realise they were Royal Doulton though.

Wow those mugs are something. What were they thinking with those, are they someone in particular or did they just make them with various faces. Love that bread bowl too.

A really nice collection of 'old'. I'd heard of Cupie dolls but wasn't sure what they were, so had to google them. I like the jugs and the bread bowl too. Great photos.

Love the pictures ~ especially the cupie dolls ~ I remember having a cupie doll when I was little ~ I think I still have it somewhere!!

My aunt collected those mugs too! And the dolls are priceless now. I'd love a bowl like you have. Nice photos and collection. Hope all is well for you!Happy Weekend.

I'm so jealous of your Royal Doulton milk jugs! I see them all the time on Cash in the Attic on BBCA. Those things are HUGE over in England. I think they're absolutely awesome!

Those mugs are ‘Toby Jugs’. They are named after the Character Sir Toby Belch in Shakespeare’s play Twelfth Night.

There is an American Toby Jug Museum in Evanston IL.

I'm not clever I looked them up in Wikipedia. We used to have some but they were probably copies. Seeing them again has brought back a lot of memories...
