Getting There....

Old bed after I had it moved to Crystal's house.....

Old dresser after the move to Crystal's house....and the new furniture at my house, below.

As you remember, I said last week that I'd be re-doing the guest bedroom and I wouldn't be around much. Understatement. I had forgotten how much work is involved. Every part of my body is SCREAMING!!Hahaaaa....I feel like this week has just gone by in a blur. It has also been so flipping HOT here and that is not very conducive to shopping trips...or moving out old furniture. Nothing seemed to go right...mattresses were delivered 2 days after I bought them...my zip just evaporated on the painting project. Oh well, like Hubby said, as much as I like to change out the colors of the linens, white walls work better....yeah, ok. I'm Still looking for a chair for the far right corner of the room and a lamp. Maybe a desk...See? Can't even make up my mind....gheeez.
It's going to be 104 here today...heat index, whothehellknows. I've got to now put everything BACK in the room I took out...with lots to throw out....shopping, laundry...Hubby's out mowing now so I best get on the move...I'll be back later to catch up on all of you...Have the COFFEE READY!!!Hahaaaa

Girl the dog days came early this year and that's for sure. Heat index of 110 predicted for here again today, actual around 100 or so. It's beastly. I stay inside until very late in the day, then I go swimming. It's worse than wintertime because in winter I love being outside during the day and only hibernate at night, LOLOLOL! But that room looks soooo cool and inviting and I just fantasize about my invitation being in the mail. *chucklesnort* And I hear you loud and clear about the amount of work it is to switch furniture out and change stuff around. But it's beautiful and you deserve a long, uninterrupted break!!!! Happy Weekend!

Love the new furniture and the spread! Are those old family pics hanging above the bed. My dad has a couple of my great-great grandparents hanging in the basement bar area!

104? So, we were almost as hot as Texas. That's not good. Not good at all. Ni siree.

Hi Donna, your room in the last photo looks so warm (not hot, lol!) and inviting. what a huge job you did. I can do these things but only with the help of Naomi and Stanley who help me around the house and garden. Have a great weekend. (((hugs))) Jo

Don't you love it when furniture can be used by the children. We've passed furniture between Houston and Seguin so many times.

Crystal's room is looking good, and your guest room looks very pretty and inviting. I love the furniture, bedspread and the antique photos over the bed.

Stay cool!

Love it! Hey, I love what Crystal got also!!

Try to get some rest, stay out of the heat! Another storm 'sposed to come through here this afternoon; we got buckets of rain yesterday.

(((hugs)))

you can always change colors with the curtains and bedding

When I started painting I decided everything was going to be antique white. I'm tired of different colors on the walls and unless I paint the whole room I'm stuck with a color scheme.
The new bed looks mighty comfy.

The old furniture looks really nice in Crystal's place, and the new furniture looks awesome in yours! I'm sure that over time (and maybe when the temps are cooler) you'll get the project finished. Don't overdue it and push yourself too hard, Donna. It's only paint, ya know? ;-)
