Alyssa Graduates...Cake Hack, and Slone

Good Morning Friends...
Well, I guess it's back to business as usual.  We enjoyed a sweet weekend with my daughter Crystal and granddaughter Samantha and of course, greatgran Sloane.
We celebrate the graduation of our grandson William's,  girlfriend, Alyssa, from the University of Arizona!  They've been together about two years.  She was majoring in Archeological Forensics.  We are so proud of her!

Alyssa and her service dog, Wesley.  He is completely devoted to her.  Alyssa can go for months and then suddenly pass out...Wesley notifies her pre-episode.  He just knows when it's about to happen so she can sit down.  He's literally, a life saver.

Our William, (currently in the Air Force and stationed in Arizona but will change locations soon)

I don't know if you've ever tried this baking hack?

Usually, you would line the bottom of your baking pan with parchment paper.  But I saw this hack on Facebook and thought I'd test it out...It Works!  Just take your butter wrapper and line your pan with it!  That's it.  Mine didn't stick!  The pound cake just dropped out of the pan!  SO, I'm saving all my butter wrappers and sticking them in the freezer.  Easy!

Butter wrappers ready for the freezer.

Then...I'd made peach pie and served hot with vanilla ice cream.  Dang, it was good!

Larry made grilled chicken on his new grill...and I made yellow squash casserole.

I also made easy Cinnamon Rolls...oh my word Good!  That's another hack!
Buy a can of large cinnamon rolls at the store...usually comes in 10 counts...Place in buttered baking dish...heat one stick of butter till melted...add 2 Tbsp Cinnamon...1/2 Cup brown sugar...stir...pour over rolls...now pour in pan, heavy whipping cream about 1/4th the way up pan...Bake at 350*F or 176 C, for about 20-25 minutes.  Don't overcook!  Take out of oven, let rest about 10-15 minutes...ice...then dig in!
Really taste great.

Lolol...You either laugh or you have to cry...

I ordered an Italian Yogurt Maker...SO easy to make yogurt and flavor any way you wish!
I used a Vanilla cultured yogurt as my starter.  Stoneyfield Organic Vanilla.
I love it with an almond granola.

This is true of our Sloane these days! Lolol... grabbing at everything...she's found her hands!

Sweet Sloane

Crawling...then...suddenly,

Pulling herself UP to standing position!  Our Big girl!  But now, I'm going to have to really watch her! Lolol
Well, that's about it for me.  I hope you all enjoyed your Mother's Day fun.  There's nothing better for your soul than Laughter...so until next time...

All your food looks SO good, now I want to eat something !
Maxime is also Eating by himself and he will walk by himself soon, parents will have to keep things out of his way!
He knows what he wants and cries when he does not get it , not easy for the parents too!
I live cinnamon rolls, when coming home from Netherlands I bought one at Starbucks on the motorway and a carrot cake!

Oooh, I like the butter wrapper trick. I'm going to try that!

Cinnamon rolls were on the Mother's Day menu here as well...but they were gluten free. My daughter, husband, and I are mastering all of our old favorites, making them GF with much success. If there is a will, there is a way!

Happy mother's day to you!

Little Sloane is grabbing at everything! And then they clutch their hands - it's funny to watch, but not to clean up haha. I love her sweet smile. That yogurt maker is cool. Have never seen that before. Your cinnamon rolls look sooooo good. And Larry's grilled chicken, delicious. Congratulations to Alyssa. That sounds like an interesting field to get into. I've always been fascinated with Archeology.

Have a happy week, Donna. Thank you for the birthday wishes.

Oh what a fun post and lots of good information. I was interested in Alyssa and her service dog. Our daughter in Oregon has a similar affliction, and she had her dog Lucky who was not trained to be a service dog, but after they got her as a puppy after she was about a year old Jill had an episode, and Lucky let her know before it happened. Now the dog wont leave her side. So interesting that even without trainning dogs sense things. BTW Jill's dog looks just like the one in the picture.

Your grandbaby is adorable, and you're right, their hands are the fastest things in the world. But it's so fun watching them learn how to control and use them as they get older. Great pics.

How precious is sweet Sloane! What a cool idea having a Yogurt Maker. The Cinnamon Rolls, grilled chicken, peach pie with vanilla ice cream, look so delicious! Great idea to use parchment paper in your baking pan. I'm glad to learn about that so my cake won't stick! Alyssa is a lovely lady and her service dog in great, too! GIRL the way you cook! So luscious! I would weigh eight hundred pounds if I ate at your house!!! Sloane is SO darling and congratulations to Alyssa! I remember when Will was just a little grade-school guy and now look at how handsome and accomplished he is. "Depressed" is hilarious but wow, we sure are doomed. I sent you the recipe for Apple Pie Baked Beans but it would not deliver to the email address I have for you.

So here is the link:

Hi Donna. I am slowly catching on visiting blogs after being out of town all last weekend. It's wonderful that Alyssa graduated from the University of Arizona. Her major field sounds very interesting. My daughter-in-law is an archaeologist. She works for the Army Corp of Engineers. Thanks for that no-stick baking hack! I am going to give that one a try for sure! Cute, cute pictures of Sloane as always. I hope your week is going well and that you have a good weekend! See you again soon!

I have got to try that cinnamon roll hack. It sounds so good, and who doesn’t like a cinnamon roll? I’m also intrigued by your purchase of a yogurt maker. Those have interested me for quite some time. I don’t eat as much yogurt as I use it in cooking, particularly Indian dishes, because I love that cuisine. I need to give this some thought.
