Good Morning, Friends...Hope all you Moms enjoyed a sweet and special Day?!
I did... Ann sent a beautiful card to me! It's so delicate...and the embossing just sent it over the top!
Thank you, Ann, for all the fun and enjoyment I get from your beautiful artwork!
My daughter, Crystal, mailed me this giant card of flowers...SO pretty and bright! It actually looks real...
Our granddaughter, Samantha...had a new photo shoot for her company. I love our Babygirl. She's such a good mommy to our sweet Sloane!
Okay...Heads Up! You need to try this room fragrance!!! I saw it on a YouTube short...I LOVE IT! And I'm hard to please...You know that smell when you walk into a fancy store like Williams & Sonoma? Lemons, rosemary and vanilla! Yumm!!
Just add 2 sprigs of rosemary
2 Tablespoons of vanilla
Add a whole sliced lemon
2 cups of water
Stew slowly on the range top or a small crockpot.
It's fabulous...It makes your whole house smell wonderful.
I had some bananas that needed to be turned into something special, so I made Larry a banana nut cake.
I've been asked about people who were born before 1947 and what name they've been given...They are "The Silent Generation". I don't know how they came up with that one.
I love this painting of Christ! He fights for us constantly. I can only imagine how sad and tired He must be, taking care of all of us! But He loves us so much...
I love Him.
Please...as a reminder...Check your SPAM folder on Comments! I know I have left comments on various blogs, but they never show up.
I, myself, have found 3 or 4 each time I check mine...What is going on with that??
Well, I suppose I'll see you again next week. Hope you all are safe from all the flooding taking place! We've had lots of rain with flooded roadways but nothing compared to some states!
Be safe...turn around and don't drown!
Until next time...

What gorgeous Mother's Day cards....and your granddaughter is so pretty (is she Sloane's Mom?). But fancy you doing a whole blog with no photos of Sloane!
Incidentally, yes I keep finding comments in spam, very annoying.
Sooze!! Thank you for catching that! Sloane's picture was on my sideboard...and I got distracted before I could post it! lol
What's a post without our SloaneyGirl?!!
Big hug
Donna
So glad that you had a nice Mother's Day. You received such nice things!
I LOVE that picture of Jesus. There are many wolves who try to get us every day, but He protects. Your banana bread looks moist and Yummy. What a thoughtful card Larry made for you. And those roses are so pretty, but what caught my eye was that gorgeous blue vase they are in. A cute picture of Samantha too. That bread on Lucy is unbelievable. I'll have to send that to my kids haha. By the way, I was born in the 60's, Baby Boomer. ; )

Glad you had such a nice Mother's Day...your husband is so talented!! That placard is amazing. Love the Lucy memory. That show was the best! I am going to make that simmer pot this week. Yes indeed. Hope your week is already off to a lovely start. Sure hope the comments will stay out of spam - so aggravating!!
I love your Mothers Day cards and that placcard that Larry made is so special!
I've made that Williams and Sonoma simmer mix and you are right, it's so good. I need to do it again.
I try to check my spam folder every few days. There are always some comments in there and for some reason it's always the same people. I don't know why their comments won't come through. Yours usually do for me.
Okay...I'm going to pass on the liver and onions..you can have my share..
I'm glad you aren't involved in the awful flooding going on.. Be safe..
Hmm, I'm the Silent Generation but I don't know why we are called that...1943
Banana bread looks so good. Now I'm hungry for some.
I do love the fragrance of lemon and vanilla..I may need to try that.
Sweet Sloane, can't seem to get enough of her..
Sue
Your Sloane is so cute, love her pink crocs, her Mom is a beauty...who looks that good after having a child?! She doesn't look tired at all!
You got some lovely cards for Mother's Day! :)
Hi Donna, Ann’s card is a beauty! I always am impressed with her creations. Larry also, a wonderful placard, also amazing! The flower bouquet card is beautiful. Loved the photo from Samantha’s photo shoot. Sloane looks so studious in her drawing/writing. Thanks for the fragrance recipe. I bet it smells divine as must your banana nut bread. I’ve never tried liver and onions. Interesting story on the I Love Lucy episode. A powerful photo of Christ protecting the sheep from the wolves. I have to check my spam folder daily, there is always someone left in there. Hope you and everyone stays safe from the flooding. Thanks for another great blog post and sending hugs.
Your gift from Larry is fabulous.
Samantha looks gorgeous in the photo and sweet Sloane is just as cute as ever. I want a big slice of that banana nut cake but first a plat of the liver and onions please :)
I never realize that comments are going to spam because they still come through my email. Usually there is someone who will tell me they think they're in spam again and then I remember to go check.
That placard is wonderful and such a thoughtful gift.
Thanks for sharing the 'scents' recipe. I bet that is nice. I'm going to have to try it.
The bread looks delish.
Hugs
Donna, What a wonderful post. I love your cards and I thought that was a real bouquet at first glance until you said it was a card.
I read something about the Silent Generation a while ago and just now looked it up. Here is what I found:
The Silent Generation grew up in the chaos of war and the Great Depres- sion. Fearing the turmoil faced in their youth, they played in-line, remain- ing silent as to not cause trouble.
I hope you have a wonderful rest of the week. xo Diana
I always check my spam before I comment and find one or two sometimes none in there. It pays to check.
Love your Mother's Day cards and what Larry made is beautiful.
I wouldn't say I was silent..lol
Have a nice wee.
What gorgeous cards (and placard!) you received for Mother's Day, Donna!
And talking about gorgeous: how fantastic is that photo of Samantha? She is absolutely stunning!
Thank you for sharing the room fragrance idea.
As for the spam folder, I've noticed the same, so I'm in the habit of checking it for "lost" comments :-)
Wishing you a lovely week! xxx
Here it was not Mother’s Day yet it will be at the end of month. I love the big card you received beautiful ! I often bake banana and nuts loaf it is so good.Larry’s work for Mother’s Day is beautiful! Congratulations!
The giant card of flowers looks so real, doesn't it?

Immer gute Küche für alle, die zu dir kommen, und alle lieben dich!
Die Szene mit Jesus bewegt mein Herz.

Hi Donna,
Wow, you got some lovely Mother's Day cards! They're all pretty, but that "Mom" placard is awesome!! Your granddaughter is so pretty and very photogenic. Thanks for the tip about homemade room freshener. We loved fried chicken livers when I was growing up, but my mom was the only one in the family that liked liver and onions. :D
Thank you for your recent visit and have a great week!
Hugs,
Denise
Thanks for the lemon and rosemary tip, I have both in the garden yet never thought of that. However I did make marmalade this week so the house smelt delicious and I have pots of basil at the terrace door so the scent wafts in, it’s supposed to discourage mosquitoes.
Sorry I've not been around for a while. Your Mother's day was lovely and your banana nut cake looks delicious. I was born 1941, and believe me I'm not the silent generation. HaHa
Lovely mom's day card. Beautiful post!
What a beautiful Mother’s Day card! Happy to hear that you enjoyed your day.
You can keep the liver and onions, lol. I hope you have a beautiful weekend, my friend.
Thank you for the recipe of fragrance!!! I am going to make some as soon as we get home tomorrow!
That card you got from Crystal!~ So gorgeous! Also I have copied that simmering recipe from you and I will be trying that. Thanks friend! xoxo
