New Sofa...and a Sweet Weekend

Good morning, Friends!
Just a little (lolol) post about the happenings here in blogville.
My sister Ruth Ann (see earlier postings) is still doing well receiving her chemo treatments.  No sickness, thank God.  I believe she has nine more treatments to go before her check-up telling us if the cancer has been eradicated.  Still asking for prayer!
On to lighter blog fare...lol...even though this pan meal is anything but light.  But so easy to prepare and twice as easy to eat!

Flat Pan Chicken and Veggies

Place your chicken down the middle of the buttered dish...arrange vegetables of your choosing, along the sides of the chicken, like you see in my photo above.
I chose new potatoes, zucchini and green beans and onions.
Bake at 350 degrees F (176 C) for an hour, checking on it until you reach the right amount of color for you. (browning)

Lime cupcakes with strawberry frosting sprinkled with crystalized sugar.

I fried up some salmon patties for lunch along with a crunchy salad.

Did I tell you we're getting a new sofa and carpet?  The brown one in the photo was donated.  What a mess the room was and still is...Trying to find new door carpets that match the grey sofa and carpeting.

Larry being his usual smarty pants self while I'm trying to take pictures of things to show you...He has his earphones in trying to ignore what I'm doing.  And Libby (pug) isn't amused! lol

Sorry about Sleeping Beauty but here's the sofa and carpet.  It'll take forever to redecorate the room!

We Love the two-sided remotes for the sofa!  The key feature for us is the lumbar button!  We both needed that feature...nice!

Also having a new electrical outlet installed.  The company we used started the job on Thursday morning.  The office got my work order wrong.  They said I ordered an outlet to be CHECKED on... I said I ordered a NEW outlet!  So much time wasted!  Poor service tech was running back and forth to his shop and our house and still isn't finished!  Coming back Monday...sigh

BUT!  On a happier note, our daughter Crystal came up from Magnolia Tx to babysit our sweet Sloane.  Being 2 1/2 hours away from their first grandchild is no fun!  We all hate it but they both have great jobs and can't pull up stakes to move back to Waco...so they travel back and forth...it is what it is, I suppose.  We all miss them terribly.

Larry and I ate breakfast out on Thursday...biscuits and sausage gravy!  Delicious.

Well, that about wraps things up for me.  I hope you're enjoying a sweet and peaceful weekend.  Until next time,

We are replacing and rewiring outlets as we paint rooms. It's a chore, but thankfully Bud did that kinda work aboard ships when in the Navy.
Your food looks so good...I think I'll take some salmon please.

And of course, darling Sloane!!!

I'm impressed by how good your food looks and I'm sure it also tastes delicious. I'm an okay cook but not good at 'presentation'.
I can imagine how hard it is for your daughter to be miles away from little Sloane. Sometimes you just have to do what you can.
Hopefully the new outlet gets installed tomorrow with no problem.

Continued prayers for your sister for sure.
Love your sweet pug. She takes a pretty picture too.
What camera do you use to take your food photos they look so delicious?
My son lives seven hours away and it is hard!

Your food looks delish. I wish I could afford a personal chef~~I'd eat really well without any of the work involved. I'd even be happy to do the dishes, I just want someone to prepare the food for me.

Decorating sounds like a nightmare to me. So much work, so much expense. I have to re-do some of my bedroom now that I had my quilt quilted and it's a different color scheme than what I already had. I'm dreading it, but I'm sure I'll love it when it's done.

Enjoy the coming week,
hugs, Linda

I like your new carpet and sofa! It looks comfy! And Larry looks like Rich does every time he sits down! I used to make that sheet pan dinner a lot. I don't know why I don't make it anymore! Have a good week sweet friend! XO

So glad to hear your sister is doing good.
All that food looks delicious. I'm always hungry after reading your blog :)
Your new couch is the same color as mine and it looks like the same type of fabric too.

Your new sofa and rug is very nice. Looks like a good color to go with many things. Grandma looks so cute with Sloane. Yes, sometimes that's just the way it is when our grandkids are a distance away. Mine are at the moment, but hoping to change that in the future. It's not easy with housing in California. So Cal is more expensive than Nor Cal.....but we just do the best we can. That lime cupcake looks so good. I want one with my coffee right now! And your chicken dish looks delicious, and easy to make. I often bake meats like this, and add veggies to the side. That dog pose is too cute. Will have to pass that on to my son - he loves dogs. And I hope your sister does ok with her treatments. I just said a prayer for her before.

Happy first day of Spring Donna!

Yay for the new couch and carpet..I am no good at decorating so I feel your pain. Feel your pain too on family living so far away. Grateful to having 1 son close by but the other one is a good 13++ hours drive from us. Hard but we do the best we can. Sloane is a real cutie...
Ugh on the electrical situation. Hope it gets done right and quickly finished.
Your Hubby looks like mine when he sits down to "Watch" TV...haha...

Hi Donna~ Your posts always make me smile :0) I really like the new couch, especially the lumbar feature, nice. I have to say that, Sloane is an adorable baby, and would be very hard to live very far from, what a cutie! I love sausage and gravy, one of our favorites as well. Looking for carpet is a hard job! There are so many different kinds and colors to choose from. I hope you find exactly what you want! Have a great week! Barb

So good to know your sister is getting through her treatment without the side effects so far. I will be sending her a prayer, lots of them. Thank you for the chicken recipe, everything looks delicious, very appetizing, and your salmon patties, sausage gravy and dessert, yum! Your new sofa looks fabulous and so comfy! You are giving me ideas but hubby wants me to get a lazy-boy. We’ll see! Larry certainly looks real comfortable. Sometimes hubby will be talking and I’ll say, pardon me? He’s not actually talking to me, I know this but I always fall for it, lol! I like the carpet too. You have certainly given me some good ideas on our own decorating and thank you for that too. Beautiful photos of Crystal and Sloane. What a sweet little baby and Crystal is a pretty young lady. The dog and the pose made me laugh and a fun finish to your post. Thanks again Donna, sending hugs!

Prayers for Ruth Ann. I'm glad she's not feeling sick from the chemo. Hope and pray they'll not find any more cancer when the treatments stop.

Sloane is such a sweetheart, always smiling. I'm hoping that for Dallas if her dad doesn't snatch her up every time she cries. Of course the belly button situation isn't good yet.

Your food always looks so good. :)

I like your new sofa and rug. Very pretty.

It's fun to find another "sister in Christ".
