Where in the world did August go? Seems it was just May. We had a bit of a promised rain shower last night, finally. Not enough to completely soak the ground but enough to dampen it. We are off work until Tuesday. Labor Day is Monday. We were ready for a rest so three days will do. Before you know it it'll be Christmas. I've wanted to go ahead and get my shopping done before Halloween. That way all I have to worry about is decorations and getting up the tree. Also, it'll allow for more free time to enjoy Thanksgiving. We usually have turkey both on Thanksgiving and Christmas. Just tradition for us. I remember the first Thanksgiving after my Mom passed, Hubby and I we're sort of in limbo as to what to do for a meal. Dad was trying to break up the routine by eating with friends, my sister was eating elsewhere, so that left Hubby and myself to go it alone. Yes, we were invited to eat with Dad and Sis, but I was "being brave" and not interfering with their plans. Dumb. We went to Luby's Cafeteria. When we sat down to eat, all I could do was cry. Not loud, silent. You know. Tears wouldn't stop rolling down my face. Poor Hubby just said "Lets get out of here," and I couldn't move fast enough. He was my rock. Mom passed in '96 and Daddy passed in '02. You can bet that after Daddy passed, we had the traditional turkeys for both holidays, at home. Well, after all that, hope you have an enjoyable evening and a better tomorrow.
