Red at Texas A&M University Medical

Well, It's been a very long road to recovery for this little guy! The Dr's at A&M are terrific. What looked like a lost cause has been turned into a ray of sunshine! You can literally see the fatigue and pain in his eyes. Bless his little heart. All of this was SO needless. Can you spell KARMA? They had to reopen his leg, clean it out, separate 2 plates that were just beginning to grow together then embed his leg with beaded antibiotics and close. Infection was in the bone.
I highly recommend A&M for any injured animal. People come from all over the world with broken or dying animals. Thank you all for the prayers. Keep 'em coming!
Well, I've bought several more Christmas presents. Still trying to meet my goal of December 1st. to have everything bought. For some reason, I can't wait. I'm already wanting to put the tree up!! Hot chocolate, cookies...sounds like we need to start posting cookie recipe's! The best ones you've ever made! Your favorite. After all, you need cookies for Halloween and Thanksgiving to! Sounds like fun. Put your thinking caps on and we'll see what we come up with.
Well, guess I'll get going, y'all have a fun day and a wonderful tomorrow!

Thank Heaven for good news on the horse. Yes, his eyes about kill me.

I thought I was finished Christmas shopping for my little great-granddaughter, but every time she comes over, I give her something. :)

Sally- Good girl on the shopping!! Yes...those eyes! Can't you feel the fear and pain? Terrible.

I am afraid of horses, however Cletus and Ellie's Mommy love them so I am saddled with two..

they took an indirect hit of lightening a couple years ago. The vet wanted to put the API down. It's the daughter's horse and I could not bear the thought. It had pancaked his hooves...

Well, last week we took the final inch of dead damaged hoof off and he is doing great. 2.5 years of effort. He has a small amount of damage to the tendons but it does not seem to slow him any.

Last week, after years of owning him, I actually got in the pen with him. My goal is to ride him, May 1, 2008...BIG BRAVE ME..

he distrusts people about as much as I distrust horses, so we should be a pair..

I feel with and for Red, I never realized he had a broken leg! If this had happened years earlier he would have been put down. Now he and I are in recovery with our legs! :-)

Rob- His leg was never actually broken as far as x-rays say. What happened was when he was trying to escape his pen (no food or water) he cut up his leg really badly. Hince, the infection that traveled up his leg and lodged in the bone.
Two surgeries later hopefully he'll mend! I'm so glad your leg is on the way to a better ending! You have a wonderful evening! I guess Spring is springing for y'all down south...Enjoy. I finally wore a jacket today!

When we lived in College Station, we always took our dog to the A&M Vet Clinic. Top notch care.
