Well, today started off busy. Off Hubby and I, went to Sam's Club, to buy his late Christmas, early Valentine present. A flatscreen HDTV and a Blu-Ray DVD player. We got the TV at Sam's but they were out of the Blu-Rays so off we went to Best Buy. They only had the floor model in stock, so we grabbed it...quick! They are on back order by months, all over town! It is only eight months old, but $600.00 off!! Oh Yeah!! For those of you "out of country", in the US, people have to buy a digital TV by 2009. Analog TV's will no longer work on our airways. About all you'll be able to use them for (unless you have cable or satillite) will to be to play DVD's on. By 2012, I believe, even they won't work. Digital or nothing...Oh well. So took a few snaps of Best Buy, Hubby putting it all together (what a guy!) the finished result and last but not least, my Granbaby enjoying Hercule Poirot with me! We love to watch together...

PS- I added a picture of the wall mount for the TV. If you already have a built in TV case, you can use any heavy duty mount to get around the problem of having a flat screen television added. The one we bought is a Cantilever LCD/Plasma Wall Mount. You can pull it out, left or right with ease.

Sounds about right, I just bought only about the 3rd color TV we've ever had last year so it figures that the dang thing won't last me 15 yrs like the last one did.
I did hear that they'll be making some sort of adapter that will make these analog TV's work and the government is supposed to help provide funds for those. They'd dang sure better cause I don't think my built in thing that the TV goes in will hold one of the new TV's.
Dixie- Thanks Girl! Hubby has been hanging onto his money (allowance)???LOLOL....Yes, he gets one!!LOL for a long time now, and finally decided he wanted a flat screen TV..He didn't know about the BluRay,,my gift to him...

Brenda- I'll have to check on that adaptor! Hadn't heard about that yet...Can't imagine the amount of money this is going to cost all of us before it's over!! Can you say "slave" to the entertainment industry???? And Hubby bought the extender..hold on..Hubby said for me to get a picture of it for y'all and add it to todays post..and the name of it, he'll pull it out of the trash for me...Ahhhh! It looks good to me. Things change so fast. We have cable tv and our old tv works good, I think it's better to wait for a new one. But I really like new things, no tv now but a new cell phone to make it up.
Brenda- I know we have our share of them!! But something does not feel right about "having" to change the systems out. I would not have chosen to do it...Oh well..who listens to me?...Have a fun evening sweetie...

Dick- A New cell phone!! I should look into a new one as well, but I just can't seem to let go of my old trusty one quite yet...And if you don't Have to change tv's...better yet!! Have fun with the new cell phone!!!
Donna, What a cool tv! We'll need to do the same eventually. Sooner than that, though, is having to go hands free with the cell phones. We've got until July of this year to do that...otherwise it's ticket time if you're driving with a phone in your hand.

I'll be watching for the adaptors, and then trying to find someone to hook it up. Had a dvd player for six months until my brother came over and showed me how it worked! :)

That wall mount thing is pretty cool, I haven't seen one of those. But then, we haven't really looked at any of those tv's either! We're still using the tv we got almost 20 years ago!!!

Jazzi- LOL, Hubby isn't a real big fan of Poirot..lolol...so Baby Samantha and I had to watch it on the spare bedroom's TV..(sniff,sniff)lol...Hubby wanted to watch that sports stuff...ugggg...
Okay if I would have started form this post I would know what a Blu Ray is. LOL Cool TV My hubby would love that.
